Nigel Thurlow is a Lean Evangelist, Continuous Improvement Leader, Quality Advocate, Agile & Scrum Coach, and a member of The Machine That Changed the World.
Considered as an expert in Lean implementation and process improvement, gained from a Toyota background, he evangelizes quality improvement and waste reduction, using his Toyota years as a foundation for teaching how to get more for less, while continuously improving the organization to deliver better value to the customer.
After many successful years as an industry accredited project leader, his focus is now on building and coaching high performing teams, and developing Lean & Agile Leadership within Fortune 500 organizations who are embracing change through the adoption of Lean, Kanban, Agile and The Scrum Framework.
In 2017 following 2 1/2 years with the creator of Scrum, Jeff Sutherland, Nigel has moved back to his roots and re-joined Toyota as the Chief of Agile with Toyota Connected, the Toyota company building the future of connected vehicle technologies.
Nigel holds numerous accreditations in many agile disciplines having been trained and mentored by many notable industry experts, including Jeff Sutherland, Ken Schwaber, Craig Larman, and Dean Leffingwell, and has trained and certified over 2000 Scrum professionals as a certified Scrum trainer for the Scrum Alliance. He is also a Lego Certified Facilitator. Nigel joined Toyota Connected as the Chief of Agile tasked with creating and leading a world class agile practice using the Scrum framework and other Agile techniques and approaches.
After helping guide Toyota Motor North America for the last 18 months he was honored to be joining Toyota Connected as their Chief of Agile to create and lead a world class Agile practice to spearhead the development of new in car electronics, autonomous driving technologies, and connected vehicle systems using the Internet of Things.
This is his career defining moment as it begin the next evolution of The Toyota Way. By combining systems and design thinking, evidence based Lean practices with eXtreme Programming, and the enduring power of The Toyota Way Nigel and his team will create the most potent and powerful force in agility in history.
